After a long international modeling career that saw her collaborate with some of the most important photographers and fashion designers, Simonetta Gianfelici began working as a Fashion Consultant and Talent Scout in 2002. In 2005, she launched Who Is On Next?, a scouting project in collaboration with Vogue Italia dedicated to emerging fashion designers. Concluded in 2022 after 17 editions, the initiative was regarded as one of the most influential platforms for new talent on the international scene.
While continuing to lend her image to fashion, she actively supports new generations of creatives through training and scouting, taking on the role of mentor and technical judge in numerous international contests and academies.
Since 2022, she has been teaching Art Direction with a focus on fashion settings as part of the Fashion Design program at NABA – Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti, Rome. She also teaches a course on Professional Development. Since 2023, she has regularly led Portfolio Review workshops at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Roma.
In the past, she collaborated with the Ethical Fashion Initiative, a program promoted by the International Trade Centre (ITC), a United Nations agency. In this role, she mentored and scouted fashion and photography talents across Africa, supporting the growth of ethical fashion on the continent.
In 2013, she was awarded the prestigious title of Chevalier de l’Ordre des Arts et des Lettres by the French Ministry of Culture, in recognition of her ongoing commitment to the promotion and dissemination of the arts and literature in France and around the world.
